We'd like to thank ProjectorScreen.com for their assistance with our projector evaluations and testing. Their yearly shoot-out, extensive selection and helpful attitude makes our life easier when we need to dig in a little more.
After launching the HORIZON 20 Series less than a week ago, XGIMI is back with something a little different, something smaller, friendlier, and more playful. It’s called the Vibe One, and it’s the first product under the company’s new sub-brand, Vibe, designed to bring projection to people who may have never used a projector before.
Whether you're looking to watch Netflix on your bedroom wall, throw a movie night in your backyard, or just want a fun piece of tech that travels well, the Vibe One is built to slide right into your lifestyle, without asking you to spend a fortune or wrestle with complicated settings.
At first glance, the Vibe One doesn’t even look like a projector. With its compact, canister-style body and built-in carry handle, it could easily pass as a modern camping lantern. But swivel its 160-degree gimbal stand and hit power, and you’ve got a 1080p projector that can throw an image up to 150 inches wide.

Setup is designed to be fast and painless. Thanks to auto-keystone correction, auto-focus, and digital zoom, you don’t have to fiddle endlessly to get a decent picture. Just point it at a surface, let it adjust itself, and you’re good to go.
For its size and price, the Vibe One manages to pack in a fair number of useful features. It runs on Google TV, which means it supports Netflix out of the box (a surprisingly rare find in projectors), plus other big names like YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, and thousands of other apps.
You’ll also find an HDMI port if you prefer a physical connection, and Wi-Fi 5 takes care of wireless streaming. And yes, it supports voice search and screen mirroring too.

The projector uses an LED light source rated at 250 ISO lumens, which makes it best suited for dark or dimly lit environments. So, you’ll want to skip the sunlit living room and maybe stick to nighttime movie sessions or shaded rooms.
As for sound, it comes with two 3W JBL-tuned speakers. They won’t shake the walls, but they’ll fill a small room just fine. You even get Dolby Audio support, and if you’re not watching anything, you can switch over to Bluetooth speaker mode, which gives you up to 4 hours of music playback.
Speaking of battery life, it’s worth calling out: you’ll get around 1.2 hours of video playback on a full charge. That’s enough for most TV shows and short films, but probably not enough for your average feature-length movie—unless you plug it in or bring a power bank.

Is that a dealbreaker? Maybe, maybe not. If you plan to use it mostly at home or where you can plug it in, it’s not a huge issue. But if you’re dreaming of movie marathons on the beach or in a remote cabin, you’ll want to plan ahead.
The Vibe One isn’t just about projecting video—it’s also built to look good sitting around when it’s not in use. It comes in two color options: a soft Cloud Ash and a playful Blue Spark with a yellow handle and blue base.
There’s also an 8-color ambient light mode, which lets you use the projector like a night light or mood lamp. You can even customize it with included stickers—a fun little extra that leans into the lifestyle angle XGIMI is clearly going for.

Let’s be clear: the Vibe One isn’t trying to replace your high-end home theater system. It’s not for people chasing ultra-bright HDR images or immersive surround sound. Instead, it’s a friendly, affordable way to dip your toes into projection—something you can toss in a bag, take to a friend’s place, or use on the fly when the mood strikes.
It’s aimed squarely at first-time projector buyers and casual users who just want a screen wherever they happen to be. Think of it more like a smart speaker that just so happens to also project movies.
If you’ve been curious about portable projectors but didn’t want to spend big or deal with clunky gear, the Vibe One could be a solid first step. It’s not trying to be the brightest or loudest, but it’s small, fun, and gets the job done—especially in the right setting.
Just don’t forget the charger if you’re queuing up anything longer than an episode of Stranger Things.
The Vibe One is already available in Europe and the UK for £219 / €249. In the U.S., pre-orders are open now, with an early bird price of $199 if you order before November 5. After that, it’ll go up to the standard retail price of $269.
