LG is adding four new portable speakers to its XBOOM by will.i.am lineup, and each one is designed to fit a different kind of lifestyle—whether you’re throwing a karaoke party, heading out for a weekend adventure, or just looking for something compact to keep you company in the kitchen. The new lineup, which includes the Stage 501, Blast, Mini, and Rock, will make its first public appearance at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
This isn’t LG’s first rodeo in smart audio gear. The new models build on last year’s Stage 301 ($249.29 at Amazon), Bounce ($189.99), and Grab ($139.99) speakers, but with longer battery life, better AI integration, and designs that are clearly tuned for specific scenarios, indoors or out.
“We are turning sound into a living, learning experience,” said will.i.am. “With FYI.RAiDiO and AI personas, xboom by will.i.am speakers offer a glimpse into a new way of enjoying audio experience through an inspiring cultural connection with AI. These enhancements will bring people closer and connect through a shared passion of music and creativity.”
“The collaboration with will.i.am continues to advance our vision for intelligent, expressive sound,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s Audio Business. “As we move into 2026, portable audio will remain a key growth driver for LG, combining refined performance, AI innovation and design that reflects what consumers value most.”

At the center of this new lineup is FYI.RAiDiO, an AI system built into each speaker that helps you find music, interact with virtual DJs, and get real-time playlist suggestions—all through voice commands or the app. You can press a button on the speaker or open the app to talk with one of ten AI personas, each offering a different vibe.
The speakers also adjust to what you’re listening to. LG’s AI Sound feature can tweak EQ settings based on whether you’re playing something vocal-heavy, bass-forward, or more melodic. Some models include AI Lighting, where LED bar lights pulse to the beat of your music, and Space Calibration Pro, which adjusts sound output depending on where you are—like a big living room or open backyard.

If your idea of fun includes singing with friends, the XBOOM Stage 501 might be your match. It has a feature called Karaoke Master, which uses AI to reduce or remove vocals from most songs and lets you adjust pitch on the fly. No karaoke tracks or special services needed—it works with your regular music library.
The battery is swappable and rated for up to 25 hours of playtime. Plug it in, and you’ll get 220W of output; unplugged, it still delivers 160W, which is plenty for most house parties. The speaker has a wedge-shaped design and can be set up vertically, horizontally, tilted, or even mounted on a tripod. Inside, it packs dual woofers, full-range drivers, and Peerless tweeters for a sound that feels big and full without overwhelming the space.

Planning a long day at the beach or a night under the stars? The XBOOM Blast is made for outdoor use and long sessions. You’ll get up to 35 hours of battery life from its 99Wh cell, and it matches the Stage 501 with 220W of power and three passive radiators to boost the low end.
The body has protective bumpers and has been tested to military durability standards, so it can take a few knocks. It includes both a rope handle for vertical carrying and a rubberized top handle, making it easier to carry through crowds or rough terrain.

The XBOOM Mini is the most casual and portable of the bunch. Its cube-shaped design makes it easy to place just about anywhere, and it still delivers up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge.
Despite its size, it includes Sound Field Enhance to keep audio sounding good even in open or echoey areas. It’s also IP67 rated, which means it’s resistant to both dust and water. LG adds a Magic Strap and a tripod mount, plus physical buttons for easy control without needing to dig into an app.

Last but not least is the XBOOM Rock, a rugged little speaker built for more extreme outings like hiking or camping. It’s the smallest model in the new lineup but still manages 10 hours of battery life and an upgraded 6W output—a bump from the previous version, the XG2.
It supports LE Audio Auracast, which lets you share music across multiple compatible speakers. Like the Mini, it uses Sound Field Enhance to keep audio clear across larger or outdoor spaces. And just like Blast, it’s built to military durability standards. A smart button provides quick access to app features and pairing.
You’ll be able to check out all four models—Stage 501, Blast, Mini, and Rock—at LG’s booth at CES 2026 (Booth #15004) in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. A global rollout is expected later in the year.
The new XBOOM speakers aren’t just about higher wattage or longer battery life. What stands out is how each model feels tailored to a real-world situation—whether it’s karaoke night, a picnic, or just wanting a compact speaker that won’t mind getting splashed. With conversational AI, smart sound adjustment, and flexible form factors, LG’s latest speakers are trying to meet people where they actually listen.
