Samsung’s 2026 monitor lineup is here, and it covers a lot more ground than a typical yearly refresh. The new range includes high-resolution Odyssey gaming monitors, new OLED models, updated ViewFinity displays for productivity, and a 43-inch smart monitor that sits on a rolling stand.

The model likely to get the most attention is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS, which Samsung describes as the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor. It uses a Fast IPS panel with 6K resolution, 224 pixels per inch, and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.

That sounds like a lot, and it is. A 6K gaming monitor is not exactly a casual upgrade for most PC setups. Modern games are already demanding at 4K, so pushing beyond that resolution will require serious graphics hardware. Samsung appears to know that, which is why the monitor also includes Dual Mode. This lets the display switch from 6K at up to 165Hz to 3K at up to 330Hz.

That means users can choose between sharper visuals and faster performance depending on what they are doing. A slower, more cinematic game may benefit from the higher resolution. A competitive shooter may make more sense at the lower resolution and higher refresh rate.

Samsung is also launching a 27-inch Odyssey G8 G80HF. This model uses a 5K Fast IPS panel and runs at up to 180Hz. It also supports Dual Mode, switching to QHD at up to 360Hz. Both new Odyssey G8 IPS models include DisplayPort 2.1, AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible support, and HDR10+ Gaming.

These models use QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology and include Glare Free treatment, DisplayPort 2.1, USB-C with up to 98W charging, HDR10+ Gaming, AMD FreeSync Premium, and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible support. The 32-inch model also carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

There is also a 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7. That model keeps the 4K OLED panel but lowers the refresh rate to up to 165Hz. It also supports Dual Mode, allowing up to 330Hz in FHD, and has a 0.03ms response time.

For buyers comparing Samsung’s own lineup, the OLED G7 looks like the more accessible OLED gaming option, while the OLED G8 is the higher-refresh 4K OLED pick.

Not every monitor in Samsung’s 2026 lineup is built mainly for gaming. The ViewFinity S8 models are aimed more at productivity, creative work, and laptop-based desk setups.

The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 S85TH uses a curved WUHD display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate. It also includes Thunderbolt 5, with up to 80Gbps data transfer and up to 140W charging for compatible devices.

That makes it more than just a large monitor. For laptop users, it can also act as a desk hub, reducing the number of cables needed for charging, display output, and data.

Samsung is also adding a 27-inch ViewFinity S8 S80HF. That model has 5K resolution, USB-C connectivity, and an ergonomic design. Samsung says it is scheduled for July 2026, but pricing has not been announced yet.

Then there is The Movingstyle Essential, which is the most unusual model in the lineup. It is a 43-inch 4K UHD smart monitor mounted on a height-adjustable rolling stand that can pivot, swivel, and tilt.

It also includes Samsung’s Smart TV apps and Samsung Gaming Hub, so it can be used for streaming and cloud gaming without needing a console or PC attached.

That makes it less like a traditional computer monitor and more like a movable screen for different rooms. It could sit near a desk during the day, move into a living room later, or work as a flexible entertainment display in a bedroom or shared space.

The Movingstyle Essential is priced at $899.99, making it one of the more lifestyle-focused products in Samsung’s 2026 monitor lineup.

“With the launch of the latest Odyssey, ViewFinity and The Movingstyle Essential lineups, we continue to push the boundaries of performance and visual quality,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With our 2026 lineup, we are delivering our most advanced display technologies yet while expanding access, enabling more users to experience Samsung’s innovations across gaming and professional environments.”

The bigger takeaway is that Samsung is not treating monitors as one-size-fits-all PC accessories anymore. The 6K Odyssey G8 is clearly aimed at high-end PC users who want more resolution. The OLED models focus on contrast, response time, and high refresh rates. The ViewFinity S8 models are built more around desk productivity. The Movingstyle Essential is for people who want a large screen that is not locked to one spot.

For buyers, that means the best choice will depend less on which monitor has the biggest spec sheet and more on how the screen will actually be used. Gamers chasing resolution may look at the 6K Odyssey G8. OLED fans may lean toward the Odyssey OLED G8 or G7. Laptop users may find the ViewFinity S8 more practical. And anyone who wants a large screen that can move from room to room may find The Movingstyle Essential the most interesting option in the lineup.
