Audio Pro is giving its wireless speaker lineup a serious refresh with the launch of the new W-Generation. Unveiled at IFA Berlin 2025, the updated range features ten redesigned models with updated sound, a sleek visual overhaul, and a brand-new app powered by WiiM. Whether you're new to the brand or already have some of their speakers at home, this update is designed to make things sound—and work—a lot better.

Let’s start with the biggest change: the app. Audio Pro has swapped out its old software for a new control app powered by WiiM (yes, the same company behind those popular streamers). The goal here is to make the whole experience more intuitive and reliable, whether you're setting up a speaker for the first time or managing a full multi-room system.

With the new app, you get advanced EQ controls, room correction tools, and better grouping options for syncing multiple speakers across your home. Streaming support has expanded too—Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, Napster, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and more are all supported. You can also stream through Apple AirPlay 2 or Google Cast, which means it’ll play nice with iOS and Android devices.

“We’ve worked hard on refreshing our entire range, listening to consumer feedback while adding new functionality to our classic sound,” says Henrik Dunér, chief technology officer of Audio Pro. “This is a new era of what a wireless speaker should be.”

If you're already using Audio Pro speakers, there's no need to toss them out—the W-Generation models are fully backward-compatible. You can mix and match the old with the new without any issues.

Audio Pro hasn’t just upgraded the app—they’ve also revisited how their speakers sound. Across the lineup, the company says it’s improved clarity, lowered distortion, and cranked up the overall volume potential. So, if you like listening loud without things getting muddy, this update might be worth checking out.

For example, the A48 W floorstanding speaker now delivers up to 15 dB more sound pressure compared to its predecessor, and the tweeter design has been fine-tuned for clearer vocals. On the smaller side, the A15 W compact speaker gets deeper bass and better battery life.

Even though the outside of the speakers might look similar, there’s quite a bit of re-engineering happening inside each one to support the new sound profile.

“You’re not just getting new features, you’re getting a new, streamlined listening experience,” says Nils Ankarcrona, CEO of Audio Pro. “Perfect multiroom listening with a rock solid app are something we’re very proud of. Consumers demand a seamless experience and we're happy to give it to them and let the music play.”

Audio Pro has always leaned into clean, Scandinavian design—and that hasn’t changed. But the W-Generation lineup brings a more unified aesthetic across all the models. Think matching grille fabrics, updated textures, refined finishes, and more consistent logo placements.

There are also subtle changes like cleaner button layouts and redesigned back panels, which make the speakers look a bit sharper overall. And if you’re after something with a more natural vibe, select models (like the A28 W) are now available in a walnut finish.

The W-Generation includes revamped versions of Audio Pro’s most popular speakers, from compact room-fillers to full-sized stereo pairs. Here's a quick breakdown:

  • Compact/tabletop models: A10 MkII W, A15 W
  • Bookshelf/floorstanding: A28 W, A38 W, A48 W
  • Multiroom speakers: C5 MkII W, C10 MkII W, C20 W
  • Larger systems: Drumfire D-2 W, Drumfire II W

Each speaker supports the new app and benefits from the re-tuned sound. The A28 W, for instance, includes an ARC input so you can connect it to your TV and control volume with your remote. It also has five preset buttons for quick access to your favorite stations or playlists.

The A10 MkII W is designed for smaller spaces and offers flexible placement, including wall or ceiling mounting. Meanwhile, the A48 W, the largest in the range, supports re-streaming—meaning it can take audio from a Bluetooth or analog source and send it to grouped speakers in a multi-room setup.

Despite the upgrades, Audio Pro is keeping pricing close to what it was before. Here’s a quick look at UK and EU pricing:

  • A10 MkII W: £220 / €250
  • A15 W: £350 / €400
  • A28 W: £500 / €600 (walnut finish: £540 / €650)
  • A38 W: £700 / €800
  • A48 W: £950 / €1,100
  • C5 MkII W: £250 / €300
  • C10 MkII W: £350 / €400
  • C20 W: £450 / €550
  • Drumfire D-2 W: £350 / €400
  • Drumfire II W: £600 / €700

U.S. pricing is expected to be announced in October.

With the W-Generation, Audio Pro seems to be responding to how people actually use speakers today — streaming music, watching TV, syncing audio across rooms, and needing a setup that doesn’t require a tech support degree. The WiiM-powered app is likely to be a standout feature for those who value reliable multi-room control and streaming variety. And with backward compatibility baked in, it’s an upgrade path that doesn’t leave existing users behind.

We’ll have to wait until we test them to know exactly how these perform in the wild, but if you’ve been eyeing a speaker upgrade — or want to start building a whole-home system — the W-Generation gives you a lot of flexibility without locking you into one ecosystem.
