beyerdynamic has just introduced the DT 270 PRO, a new addition to its PRO lineup that’s designed with creators in mind—whether you’re recording a podcast, mixing a track, or just jamming on a keyboard in your bedroom studio.
What sets the DT 270 PRO apart? It offers many of the core features from beyerdynamic’s pricier models—like studio-ready sound and those soft velour ear pads the brand is known for—but at a much more accessible price: £89 / €99. That makes it a potentially attractive pick for newer creators and even seasoned producers looking for a lightweight, mobile-friendly pair of over-ears.
Compared to other headphones in the PRO series, the DT 270 PRO is more compact and easier to carry around. It weighs just 194 grams, so it won’t weigh down your bag—or your head during long sessions.

This is a closed-back, over-ear design that aims to block out about 19dB of outside noise. That’s useful whether you’re working from a noisy apartment or just trying to focus on editing a podcast without distractions.
Connectivity is flexible, too. The headphones come with a coiled cable that stretches from 1.3 to 3 meters, and you can plug it into either earcup depending on your setup. There’s also a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box, which means you can hook them up to a smartphone, tablet, or laptop without needing extra gear. A standard 6.35mm adapter is included as well, along with a drawstring fabric carrying pouch.
beyerdynamic clearly took comfort into account with this one. The DT 270 PRO uses the same plush, replaceable velour ear pads found on higher-end models, which are known for staying comfortable during long listening or editing sessions.

The headband is padded and reinforced with a spring steel core, helping it stay secure on your head without being too tight. It’s the kind of design that feels durable, but not bulky—a nice balance for people who need to wear headphones for hours at a time.
And when the ear pads eventually wear out, you can replace them. That’s not something you always get in this price range.
When it comes to sound, beyerdynamic says the DT 270 PRO was tuned to meet modern studio standards. The goal was to create something that sounds balanced across the board—no bloated bass or overly bright highs.
Instead, these headphones focus on delivering a clear low end, natural-sounding mids, and smooth treble. That kind of neutral tuning is especially helpful when you’re editing vocals, mixing music, or just trying to hear details without coloration.
With an impedance of 45 ohms, the DT 270 PRO should work well whether you're using a smartphone, audio interface, or a dedicated headphone amp. It sits in that sweet spot where you don’t need special gear to get good results.

“With the DT 270 PRO, we are making the DNA of our popular PRO series accessible to even more people,” says Ante Mihalj, product manager at beyerdynamic. “We wanted to create headphones that deliver the original PRO sound for both beginners and experienced music professionals — and that’s exactly what we’ve achieved with the DT 270 PRO. We are delighted to expand our portfolio with this versatile model that carries a true studio character.”
Technical Specifications:

The DT 270 PRO is meant for people who want pro-level features without spending pro-level money. Whether you're a beginner setting up your first home studio or an experienced creator who needs a second pair for travel or casual sessions, this headphone seems to hit a practical balance between performance and price.
It’s available now in Europe through beyerdynamic’s website, Amazon, and authorized retailers. North American availability is expected soon, although exact pricing hasn’t been announced yet. Spare parts, like replacement pads, will also be sold separately.
While it’s not trying to replace flagship models like the DT 770 PRO, the DT 270 PRO does offer a lot of the same DNA in a more affordable and compact package. It brings the essentials—balanced sound, comfort, and durability—into a design that works well whether you’re recording in a studio or on the go.
As more people look for portable, flexible audio gear that doesn’t require a big investment, the DT 270 PRO arrives as a timely option. It’s not flashy, but it ticks a lot of boxes for creators who just want a reliable tool to get the job done.
