Samsung has officially brought the Odyssey OLED G6 to the U.S., and it’s not just another gaming monitor—it’s the first OLED model in the world with a 500Hz refresh rate. The launch also comes with two new Odyssey G7 monitors in 37-inch and 40-inch sizes, giving gamers more display options to choose from. All three are available now through Samsung’s website.

“At Samsung, we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of gaming monitor innovation,” said David Phelps, Head of Display at Samsung Electronics America. “With the world’s first 500 Hz OLED monitor and dynamic new G7 form factors, we’re delivering enhanced levels of competitive and immersive gaming and setting a new benchmark for monitor performance and design in the market.”

The Odyssey OLED G6, also known as the G60SF, has a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440) and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The headline feature is that 500Hz variable refresh rate, paired with an ultra-quick 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time. That kind of speed is aimed squarely at competitive gaming, where smooth motion and split-second reactions matter most.

To help keep gameplay fluid, the G6 supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync. It’s also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified and supports HDR10+ Gaming, which means you get deeper blacks, high contrast, and richer colors. Peak brightness hits up to 1,000 nits, with a typical brightness of around 300 nits. A matte anti-reflective coating (UL Glare Free) helps cut down on reflections if you’re playing in a brighter room.

If you care about accurate colors, the G6 comes Pantone Validated, covering over 2,100 Pantone shades and more than 110 skin tone variations. It also covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space, making it suitable for creative work like photo or video editing when you’re not gaming.

Samsung has built in its OLED Safeguard+ system to reduce the risk of burn-in. This includes things like dynamic brightness adjustment, logo detection, and screen saver activation, along with liquid cooling inside the monitor. The G6 also comes with a three-year warranty.

You get plenty of connectivity here: two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB 3.2 Type-B upstream port, and two USB 3.2 Type-A downstream ports. On the software side, features like Black Equalizer improve visibility in darker scenes, Eye Saver Mode reduces blue light, Flicker-Free technology helps reduce eye strain, and Virtual Aim Point gives you an on-screen crosshair for FPS games.

The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, and the monitor is VESA mount compatible (100 x 100mm). On the back, customizable RGB lighting works with Samsung’s CoreSync and CoreLighting+ to match the colors on your screen.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is priced at $999.99 in the U.S.

Alongside the OLED G6, Samsung has introduced two new versions of its Odyssey G7 line. The 37-inch model has a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) VA panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1000R curve, and a 165Hz refresh rate. The larger 40-inch version switches to an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio with a WUHD (5,120 x 2,160) resolution, the same 1000R curve, and a slightly faster 180Hz refresh rate. Both have a 1ms GTG response time.

These G7 models are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified, support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and include gaming features like Black Equalizer and Virtual Aim Point. They also add Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture modes for multitasking.

Like the G6, the G7 models come with dual HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a headphone jack, and the same USB setup. The stands offer height, tilt, and swivel adjustments.

Pricing comes in at $899.99 for the 37-inch G7 and $1,199.99 for the 40-inch.

OLED gaming monitors have traditionally traded refresh rate for image quality, while ultra-fast displays have used other panel types with lower contrast and color depth. The Odyssey OLED G6 is unusual because it merges those strengths—fast refresh and OLED’s visual advantages—into one screen. For gamers, especially those who play both competitive titles and visually rich games, that’s a notable change.

With these new additions, Samsung’s Odyssey lineup now caters to a wider range of gaming setups, from esports-ready speed to large, immersive ultra-wide experiences.
