Built-in audio is having a moment again, especially for rooms where you don’t want a stack of boxes, dangling cables, or a Bluetooth speaker living on the counter. Q Acoustics’ new E60 is aimed at that exact situation: it’s an in-wall audio system that combines amplification, wireless streaming, and wall-mounted controls in a single unit, designed to be quick for installers and straightforward for homeowners.

The E60 is positioned as an entry-level addition to the company’s Easy Install family, sitting alongside the E120 (Bluetooth + DAB in-wall system) and the E300A (a voice-controlled in-ceiling amplifier).

Think of the E60 as a compact “audio hub” that lives in your wall. It includes:

  • A built-in Class D amplifier rated at 2 x 25 watts into 6 ohms
  • Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless playback
  • A wall panel with touch-sensitive controls and LED indicators
  • Inputs/outputs that let it work as a small, room-based system, without needing a separate amp in a closet

Q Acoustics says the amp can drive up to two pairs of speakers, whether that’s in-ceiling speakers for a clean look, or cabinet speakers if you prefer something more traditional.

One of the more practical parts of the E60 is its IP54 splash-proof rating. That’s why Q Acoustics is openly pitching it for places like bathrooms, kitchens, and garden summer houses, where humidity and the occasional splash are part of the deal.

Because it’s rated for that kind of environment, the E60 doesn’t require additional silicone sealing, which is a small detail that can save time and reduce mess during installation.

Custom install gear often looks great after it’s installed, but the process can be painful. The E60 uses a screwless clip-in fixing system, designed to speed things up and leave a flush finish without exposed hardware.

The E60 comes in deep black or warm white finishes to blend into modern rooms. The wall panel uses LED indicators for feedback, but they’re meant to stay low-key: the lights brighten while you’re adjusting settings and dim automatically in low light so you’re not stuck with an always-on glow at night.

Q Acoustics also leans on touch-sensitive controls (borrowed from the E120), which can be handy in rooms where you might be using it with damp hands.

For day-to-day listening, the E60 relies on Bluetooth 5.0, and it supports two-way control, so you can do volume, play/pause, and track skip from both your phone/tablet and the wall unit.

If you want to connect something more permanent, there’s an optical digital input (listed as 16-bit / 48kHz) for hooking up a TV or other source. That makes the E60 a potential fit for a bedroom TV setup, a kitchen display, or any space where you want the TV to share speakers with music playback.

Not every room benefits from stereo imaging. For spaces where consistent coverage matters more, like a bathroom, hallway-adjacent bedroom, or small kitchen, the E60 includes a selectable mono mode. Flip the switch, and it plays both channels through both speakers, which can help keep the sound balanced as you move around the room.

You can also expand beyond the basics using the analogue line output, which can be set to fixed or variable. That means you can:

  • Add a subwoofer for more low-end weight, or
  • Feed another power amp if you want to scale the setup without replacing the in-wall control unit

The Q Acoustics E60 is available now in black or white for £279 / €359. Q Acoustics also lists recommended bundles that pair the E60 with its in-ceiling speakers:

  • E60 + Qi65CB: £359 / €460
  • E60 + Qi65C: £399 / €519
  • E60 + Qi65CE Easyfit: £479 / €619

For homeowners, the pitch is simple: built-in audio without visible gear. For installers, the story is more about speed, clean finishing, and flexibility, especially in rooms where standard wall systems can be awkward to place.
