Focal’s Diva Alta Utopia brings streaming, amplification, room correction, and high-end speaker design together in one very large, very expensive package.

Focal is expanding its Diva Utopia line with a new flagship model that takes the idea of a wireless active speaker system into far more serious territory. The new Focal Diva Alta Utopia arrives in August 2026 with a price of $210,000 in the U.S. and $260,000 in Canada, sold exclusively through the Focal Powered by Naim network of authorized retailers.

That price immediately puts it in a category most people will only read about, not shop for. But the Diva Alta Utopia is still interesting because it shows where Focal and Naim are taking high-end hi-fi: fewer separate boxes, more built-in electronics, app-based setup, room correction, streaming, HDMI eARC, and a speaker-to-speaker wireless link that is designed for serious audio use rather than casual convenience.

The Diva Alta Utopia is the third model in the Diva Utopia family, following the original Diva Utopia in 2024 and the Diva Mezza Utopia in 2025. Focal says the “Alta” name comes from the Latin word altus, meaning “high,” and this version is positioned above both earlier models. It is intended for larger spaces, with Focal saying it can fill rooms from 538 to 1,292 square feet. For comparison, the standard Diva Utopia is aimed at rooms up to 861 square feet, while the Diva Mezza Utopia reaches up to 1,076 square feet.

The Diva Alta Utopia borrows several ideas from Focal’s Grande Utopia speakers, including a four-way architecture, Focus Time Management, W-cone drivers, and detailed filtering. The big difference is that the Alta is an active, connected system. Amplification, DSP, DAC, streaming, room correction, and input switching are all built in.

Each speaker uses seven drivers:

  • Four 8-inch W-cone woofers in a push-push configuration
  • One 6.5-inch W mid-bass driver with TMD suspension and NIC motor
  • One 5.125-inch M-profile W midrange driver
  • One 27mm PRISM M-profile inverted dome tweeter with IAL2

Focal lists a frequency bandwidth of 23Hz to 40kHz at ±3 dB, with a low-frequency cutoff of 20Hz. Maximum output is rated at 122dB SPL per pair at 1 meter, which helps explain why this model is aimed at large rooms.

The amplification comes from Naim, with 600 watts of Class AB power per speaker. That power is divided across four channels: 280 watts for low frequencies, 130 watts for mid-bass, 100 watts for midrange, and 90 watts for high frequencies. Instead of matching separate amps, DACs, streamers, and cables, the user gets a closed system designed by Focal and Naim together.

One of the bigger technical changes is Focal’s new PRISM tweeter, which debuts here. Focal describes PRISM as a multi-material substrate shaped with an advanced micro-structuring process. The goal here is to combine lightness, damping, and rigidity in a way that goes beyond what its beryllium tweeter technology could do.

That is a major shift for Focal, since beryllium has been one of the brand’s signature materials for more than 20 years. The company is not replacing every tweeter in its lineup overnight, but the Diva Alta Utopia clearly acts as a showcase for what comes next at the top end.

The new M-profile W midrange also makes its first appearance in the Diva Utopia range. It is related to technology used in Focal’s Utopia M professional monitors, with added carbon reinforcement. In plain English, this is the driver handling much of the vocal and instrument range, so its job is not just detail but also avoiding the hard or boxy character that can make a speaker tiring over time.

The Diva Alta Utopia is “wireless” in a very specific way. The two speakers communicate with each other using UWB technology, which allows uncompressed, low-latency signal transmission at 96kHz/24-bit. For higher-resolution playback between speakers, the supplied cable supports 192kHz/24-bit operation.

So, no, this is not a fully cable-free setup. Each speaker still needs power, and users who want the highest inter-speaker resolution will use the included cable. But compared with a traditional high-end system with passive speakers, monoblock amps, preamps, DACs, streamers, and long speaker cables, it is much more self-contained.

Inputs and playback options include:

  • HDMI eARC with CEC
  • Optical Toslink
  • Analog RCA
  • USB 2.0 Type-A
  • Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6
  • AirPlay, Google Cast, UPnP, Bluetooth 5.3
  • Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, QQ Music via QPlay

Supported file formats include WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, MP3, AAC, OGG, DSD64, and DSD128. Multiroom playback is also supported with up to 32 Focal & Naim streamers through the Focal & Naim app.

Focal is also including ADAPT, a room acoustic correction system that factors in both the room and the listener’s hearing perception. The system also allows adjustments for sound texture, speaker levels, and Focus Time Management through the app.

Control options include the Focal & Naim app, an included remote control, and voice assistants. That matters because a system at this level can be intimidating, and part of the Diva Alta Utopia’s pitch is that it removes some of the setup complexity usually associated with ultra-high-end audio.

Design is also part of the story. The speaker will be available in five finishes: Grey Felt, Ivory Felt, Black High Gloss, Off-White High Gloss, and Dune High Gloss. The lacquered finishes are hand-crafted at Focal’s Ebénisterie Bourgogne workshop. Each speaker measures 58.25 x 18.125 x 24.375 inches and weighs 236 pounds, so placement is not exactly casual, even with castors built into the base.

The Diva Alta Utopia is not trying to bring high-end hi-fi to a mass-market price point. At $210,000, it sits firmly in luxury audio territory. But as a technology preview, it is worth paying attention to. It shows how Focal and Naim are blending traditional high-end speaker design with active amplification, streaming, wireless transmission, room tuning, and app-based control, all inside a system that still looks and behaves like a serious floorstanding speaker pair.
