Aurzen EAZZE D1R Air Review: Affordable Big-Screen Entertainment

Not every projector needs to be a dedicated home theater powerhouse. Sometimes you just want something that's easy to set up, affordable, and capable of throwing a big image on the wall for movie night. That's exactly where the Aurzen EAZZE D1R Air fits in. It doesn't try to compete with premium projectors costing several times more. Instead, it focuses on delivering a solid viewing experience without emptying your wallet. After spending time with it, I think Aurzen has done a nice job finding that balance.

Design & Build

The first thing I noticed was how portable the D1R Air is. It's compact enough to move from room to room without thinking twice, making it a great option for bedrooms, dorm rooms, camping trips, or backyard movie nights. It doesn't demand a permanent spot in your home theater—it simply goes wherever you need it. Setup is equally simple. The automatic focus and keystone correction work well, meaning you're watching content within minutes instead of spending time adjusting the image by hand.

Picture Quality

For a projector in this price range, I came away impressed. The Full HD image looks sharp, colors are vibrant enough to keep movies enjoyable, and streaming content looks clean on a large screen. Watching a favorite movie on a 100-inch image is still something that feels special, and the D1R Air delivers that experience without requiring a massive investment. That said, I do wish it had just a little more brightness.

In a dark room, the picture looks very good. Once ambient light starts creeping in, though, you'll notice the image begins to lose some punch. It's certainly usable, but another step up in brightness would have made this projector even more versatile. For evening movie sessions, however, it's a very enjoyable experience.

Audio Performance

If there's one area where the D1R Air clearly reminds you it's a budget projector, it's the speakers. They're perfectly adequate for casual viewing, but that's about it. Dialogue comes through clearly enough, yet movies don't have the impact or fullness you get from even an inexpensive soundbar. The good news is that this is an easy problem to fix.

Pair the projector with a decent Bluetooth speaker, powered speakers, or a simple soundbar, and the overall experience improves dramatically. If you're putting together even a modest home theater setup, you'll probably be using external audio anyway.

Smart Features

Having Roku built directly into the projector is a huge convenience. There's no need to plug in a streaming stick or connect extra hardware before you can start watching. Everything feels familiar and easy to navigate, making the projector approachable even for someone who's never owned one before. It's one of those features that simply works, and I appreciate that.

Value

This is where the D1R Air earns its recommendation. For the money, you're getting a sharp Full HD picture, automatic setup features, built-in streaming, and a portable design that's easy to take almost anywhere. Yes, there are brighter projectors on the market. Yes, there are projectors with much better speakers. But you'll also spend significantly more to get them. Aurzen understood the assignment here. Rather than chasing flagship performance, they built a projector that delivers excellent value where it matters most.

Final Thoughts

The Aurzen EAZZE D1R Air is an easy projector to like. It offers a sharp image, quick setup, convenient built-in streaming, and a compact design that's perfect for casual movie nights. I do wish it had a little more brightness, and the built-in speakers leave plenty of room for improvement, but neither issue is enough to overshadow what this projector gets right. If you're shopping for an affordable projector and don't mind adding your own audio solution later, the D1R Air is a smart buy. It isn't perfect, but at this price, it doesn't need to be.
