Focal and Naim owners have another music service to choose from, and this one is aimed squarely at listeners whose libraries lean toward classical music, jazz, and high-resolution recordings.

Presto Music has been integrated into the Focal & Naim streaming platform, allowing compatible speakers, all-in-one systems, and network players to stream directly from the specialist music service. The integration began rolling out in early August through new firmware and updates to the Focal & Naim app.

Rather than trying to compete with Spotify or Apple Music as an everything-for-everyone service, Presto Music concentrates primarily on classical and jazz. Its catalog includes more than 200,000 albums, over 34,000 of which are available in high-resolution audio, along with more than 70,000 digital album booklets. Streaming quality can reach 24-bit/192kHz when the recording and playback hardware support it.

The new integration works more like Tidal Connect or Qobuz Connect than conventional phone-to-speaker casting.

You can browse and select music inside the Presto Music app and then choose a compatible Focal or Naim device as the playback destination. The streamer takes over playback directly, leaving your phone, tablet, or computer free to continue browsing albums, reading digital booklets, or choosing the next recording without having to send the audio itself to the system.

That distinction matters when you're listening to high-resolution files. Instead of routing the audio through Bluetooth or relying on your phone to remain part of the playback chain, the supported Focal or Naim device communicates directly with the streaming service.

To get started, Presto says you will need version 2.39.0 or newer of its app along with the appropriate firmware for your Focal or Naim hardware.

Firmware versions associated with Presto support include:

• 3.13.0 for compatible Uniti and Classic streamers
• 5.4.0 for New Classic products
• 4.6.0 for Mu-so 2nd Generation
• 7.2.0 for Mu-so Hekla
• 6.2.0 for Focal DIVA Utopia
• 7.1.0 for Naim CI Series products

There is an important caveat, however. First-generation Naim streamers cannot receive the Presto Music update. Presto has also said that firmware for some Uniti models is due around mid-August 2026, while the Mu-so 2nd Generation update is expected before the end of August. New Classic firmware 5.4, which includes Presto support, was already released on August 5.

So, depending on what you own, the Presto option may not appear immediately even though the integration has officially launched.

The hardware integration is only part of the story. Presto Music launched its streaming service in 2023 after decades of selling classical and jazz recordings, and its app is designed around the way listeners explore those genres.

Alongside albums and playlists, subscribers can access editorial articles, reviews, recommendations, and digital booklets. That can be particularly useful with classical recordings, where the conductor, orchestra, soloist, composer, recording date, and particular performance can matter just as much as the album title.

Presto also uses a pay-per-second royalty model rather than relying entirely on the per-track approach common across streaming. The company argues that this better reflects genres where individual pieces can run for considerably longer than a typical pop song. Payments ultimately involve labels and other rights holders, so the economics are more complicated than a simple artist-per-stream figure, but the model is one of the ways Presto differentiates itself.

Presto's U.S. site currently lists its standard Streaming plan at $10.99 per month and Streaming Plus at $14.99 per month. Both include the full streaming catalog and playback up to 24-bit/192kHz, while Streaming Plus adds discounts on purchases and delivery through Presto's store. Pricing and benefits can vary by region.

Normally, Presto offers new subscribers a one-month trial, but Focal and Naim customers are being offered an extended three-month free trial through the new integration. The offer can be accessed from the Presto Music option inside the Focal & Naim app.

Presto Music probably won't replace a broad streaming service for listeners who want everything from current pop releases to podcasts. That's not really what it's trying to do. For Focal and Naim owners who spend a lot of time with classical music, jazz, and high-resolution recordings, however, the new direct integration removes an extra step between Presto's specialized catalog and the hi-fi system already sitting in the room.
