LG is stepping up its wireless audio game with two new additions to its Xboom Buds lineup: the Xboom Buds Plus and Xboom Buds Lite. These new models follow the original Xboom Buds launched earlier in 2025 and are designed to cover a wide range of listening styles—whether you're a casual listener who just wants good sound on the go, or someone who geeks out over audio details.

Like the originals, both of these new earbuds were tuned with input from musician will.i.am, and they continue LG’s trend of balancing performance, comfort, and features across different price points. So whether you're looking for something premium or just something that gets the job done reliably, LG's got an option for you.

What They Have in Common

Let’s start with what’s shared across the lineup. No matter which model you go for, you’re getting graphene drivers—these are ultra-lightweight components known for delivering clean, detailed sound with solid bass and minimal distortion. That’s a solid foundation for good audio, whether you’re listening to podcasts or dance tracks.

Both models also support Bluetooth 5.4, which makes for fast, stable connections and low latency. Plus, you can switch between devices easily thanks to Multi-Point and Multi-Pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Swift Pair. So jumping from your laptop to your phone (or vice versa) won’t be a hassle.

Battery life is also impressive across the board. The Buds Plus give you up to 10 hours of listening time per charge (and 30 hours total with the charging case), while the Buds Lite stretch it even further to 11.5 hours on their own and 35 hours with the case. Whether you're headed on a long trip or just don't want to worry about charging every day, you’re covered.

Both models come with multiple ear tip sizes and a secure-fit design that includes built-in ear hooks—so they’ll stay put whether you’re at your desk or on a jog.

Xboom Buds Plus

The Xboom Buds Plus are the higher-end option, and it shows in the feature set.

One standout is Adaptive EQ, which adjusts the sound in real time based on how the earbuds fit in your ears. If they shift around a bit or don’t form a perfect seal, the EQ kicks in to balance the sound so you don’t lose clarity or bass.

They also come with a triple-microphone system that helps improve both active noise cancellation (ANC) and call quality. Whether you're in a noisy café or walking through a busy street, your calls should still come through clearly.

The charging case has a few tricks of its own. It includes LG’s UVnano technology, which uses UV light to kill bacteria on the ear tips and speaker mesh while the buds charge. There's also wireless charging, so you can just drop the case on a pad—no cable necessary.

And if you're using old-school equipment like in-flight entertainment systems or gym machines that don’t support Bluetooth, the Buds Plus case can act as a Bluetooth transmitter thanks to the Plug & Wireless feature. There’s also Auracast support, letting you sync audio across multiple devices—great for watch parties or shared playlists.

The price for all this? Around £149.99, which translates to about $205.

Xboom Buds Lite

If you're after something more affordable without losing key features, the Xboom Buds Lite might be your match.

These still use the same graphene drivers, so you’re getting good sound quality. The Lite version has what LG calls Mild ANC, which tones down background noise but isn’t as aggressive as what you'll find in the Plus model.

You also get four EQ modes through LG’s app, so you can tweak the sound to better suit your preferences—whether you want more bass, brighter vocals, or a more balanced profile.

Battery life is a big selling point here. With up to 11.5 hours on one charge and 35 hours total with the case, the Buds Lite are built to go the distance. They’re also lightweight and simple, making them great for all-day wear in quieter environments like libraries, home offices, or cafés.

The best part? The price lands at just £59.99, or about $80, which makes them a solid entry-level option if you want decent sound without spending a fortune.

How They All Fit Together

With the launch of the Buds Plus and Buds Lite, LG now has a full lineup:

  • Xboom Buds Plus – Great if you want a smart, feature-rich pair for travel, work, or everyday use.
  • Xboom Buds – The mid-range model with reliable features for general daily listening.
  • Xboom Buds Lite – Stripped-down, affordable, and battery-focused for users who just want good sound and comfort.

“Sound has always been part of LG’s identity, beginning with the first radio made in Korea and evolving into today’s wireless audio innovations,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s audio business division. “With xboom Buds Plus and Buds Lite expanding the xboom Buds lineup, we are honoring that legacy by making immersive, high-quality audio experiences available to more people, regardless of their lifestyle or listening preferences.”

Both Xboom Buds Plus and Buds Lite are rolling out globally starting September 2025.
