I've been running the VUEROID S1 QHD Infinite for a while now, and overall it's one of the better-designed dash cams I've used. The build quality is excellent — it doesn't have that cheap, hollow plastic feel a lot of budget dash cams have. The buttons and mounting hardware feel solid, and the whole thing just feels more premium than most of the generic dash cams you find on Amazon.

Great size and design

What I like most is how compact the camera sits on my windshield. It looks like it was actually designed for a car, instead of being some accessory bolted on as an afterthought. So many other dash cams hang down way too far and end up sitting right in your line of sight while you drive. This one doesn't do that — it tucks up near the mirror, stays out of the way, and I basically forget it's there until I need it.

Video quality

Video quality has been strong too. The QHD resolution gives you enough detail to actually make out plates, road signs, and other vehicles without the massive file sizes you get from 4K. Both the front and rear cameras use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors with a 160-degree field of view, and HDR is supported on both, which helps a lot with glare and low light.

Now for the stuff I don't like

I drive a GMC 2500, so it's not the smoothest ride to begin with. The impact/accident-detection mode is way too sensitive for that. When I go off-road, it dings the "saved event" alert constantly — hit a small pothole and boom, it thinks you were just in an accident. It gets annoying pretty fast. I get why the sensitivity is there, but there's no real way to dial it in for a rougher-riding truck versus a car with a smooth suspension, and it should probably be adjustable based on vehicle type.

The other thing that bugs me is the app and video playback speed. It's noticeably slow compared to other dash cams I've tested. From the time I connect to the camera's Wi-Fi to the time a clip actually finishes downloading to my phone, it's by far the longest wait I've dealt with out of all the dash cams I've owned or reviewed. If something happens and I need footage quickly, that delay is the last thing I want to deal with.

The good news is you're not stuck using the app — you can just pull the microSD card (up to 512GB supported) if you need footage fast or in bulk. That saves the experience somewhat, but it doesn't excuse how slow the wireless transfer is. Interestingly, I've tested other VUEROID dash cams and they were much quicker to pull up footage and work with on the app, so it's likely just this model.

Parking mode is solid too — there's a low-power mode, impact/motion recording, timelapse recording, and a hardwire cable included, so it's a legit option if you want parked-car protection and not just driving footage. Built-in GPS is a nice touch for logging location and speed on top of that.

Bottom line: the S1 QHD Infinite is a genuinely well-built, well-designed dash cam that looks great mounted on the windshield and records solid footage. But the impact detection needs to be adjustable for rougher vehicles, and the app needs to be a lot faster. If VUEROID fixes those two things, this becomes an easy recommendation. As it is, I still like it a lot — mainly because the hardware and design are that good.
