Earlier this month at CES 2026, SVS pulled the curtain back on its new 3000 R|Evolution Series subwoofers, right alongside its first-ever soundbar. Now, both the SB-3000 R|Evolution (sealed) and PB-3000 R|Evolution (ported) are officially available and shipping, giving home theater fans and music lovers a new mid-tier option that borrows heavily from the brand’s more expensive flagship designs.
For anyone who’s been eyeing serious low-end performance but doesn’t want to go all-in on something physically massive or ultra-premium in price, these new subs could hit a sweet spot.
The 3000 R|Evolution Series sits right between SVS’s original 3000 line and the more advanced 5000 and 17-Ultra R|Evolution models. But this isn’t just a refresh or repackaging. SVS rebuilt the platform from the ground up—reworking the driver, amplifier, and signal processing systems to deliver better output, deeper extension, and more precise control, all in a slightly more approachable package.

There are two models to choose from:
Each one is designed with a particular use case in mind, whether that’s a two-channel music setup or a full-blown Atmos theater.
“The original 3000 Series became the most popular subwoofers worldwide because they struck a rare balance between size, output, and accuracy,” said Gary Yacoubian, President of SVS. “With 3000 R|Evolution, we didn’t just improve that formula—we redefined it. By bringing flagship R|Evolution technology into this series, we’ve delivered deeper bass, greater control, lower distortion, and dramatically improved musicality, while enhancing the user experience. It’s a massive leap forward and a new reference for what subwoofers can achieve anywhere near their price.”
Both subwoofers share the same newly developed 13-inch high-excursion driver. At the center of this design is a flat-edge wound, split-wind voice coil that keeps magnetic force consistent even at high excursion levels. It’s paired with a toroidal ferrite magnet motor, an aluminum shorting ring, and an upgraded suspension system—all of which are there to help the sub move large volumes of air while keeping distortion under control.

Feeding the driver is a 1,200-watt Class-D amplifier (with over 4,000 watts of peak output) that uses fully discrete MOSFETs, a rare find at this price. Power delivery is stabilized by a two-stage switch-mode power supply, so even if your home’s AC line is less than perfect, the amp stays composed under stress.
The 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP is the brains of the operation, constantly managing power, heat, and signal control in real time. It’s also part of what makes the subs so customizable.
Both models work with the SVS Subwoofer Control App, available on iOS and Android. You can dial in settings like volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity, and room gain compensation—all from your phone. The PB-3000 R|Evolution adds adjustable port tuning modes for even more flexibility depending on your space.
Up to six bands of parametric EQ are available, and users can save three different presets to quickly swap settings depending on what they’re listening to (movies vs. music, for example).
A notable feature is on the horizon, too: Auto EQ is coming soon via a firmware update. It’ll use your phone’s microphone to measure your room and automatically apply correction filters, no calibration mic or external tools needed.
The SB-3000 R|Evolution comes in a more compact sealed cabinet that’s about 16 inches deep and is available in Piano Gloss Black or Premium Black Ash. It’s rated down to 17Hz, which is plenty deep for most rooms and especially ideal if your priority is bass that’s fast and clean.
The PB-3000 R|Evolution, meanwhile, is noticeably larger at nearly 25 inches deep and available in Premium Black Ash. Its ported design and bigger enclosure let it dig even lower—down to 16Hz with the ports open, while producing more output for those looking to really feel their movies.
Both models include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, so integration is straightforward whether you’re using a stereo preamp or an AV receiver.
SVS is aiming the 3000 R|Evolution Series at people who want real performance without going full flagship. They aren’t the most compact subs around, but compared to some of SVS’s larger models, these strike a much more manageable balance in terms of size and cost.
And with the new soundbar entering the mix, it’s clear SVS is looking to serve a wider audience, whether you’re building a full 7.2.4 system or just dipping your toes into better audio.
| Model | Type | Frequency Response | Price | Finish Options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SB-3000 R | Evolution | Sealed | 17Hz – 230Hz ±3dB | $1,299.99 |
| PB-3000 R | Evolution | Ported | 16Hz – 235Hz ±3dB (ports open) | $1,799.99 |
The SVS 3000 R|Evolution Series brings a lot of what makes the brand’s flagship subwoofers stand out—custom drivers, discrete amplification, high-speed DSP, and smart app control, into a format that works for more people and more rooms.
After debuting earlier this month at CES 2026, both models are now available to order through SVS and authorized retailers.
