By its 2026 campaign, Liene says more than 75,000 creators have used the system. That runway is what separates a proven consumer device from a first-generation gadget still working out its edges. The engineering shorthand

Some of the appeal is easier to see once you know what's happening inside the box. The PixCut S1 uses 300 dpi thermal dye-sublimation printing with a 1,280-dot thermal print head. The cartridge isn't liquid ink. It's a solid ribbon carrying cyan, magenta, and yellow dye plus a clear overcoat, transferred to the paper in layers as the sheet passes through the machine. Once the color layers are down, the same ribbon lays a clear protective coat over the print. Liene says the coat improves resistance to water, fading, and scratches, which is what makes a sticker viable on a water bottle, a laptop lid, or the outside of a lunchbox that gets bounced around every school day.

Then comes the cut. Sensors inside the machine detect where the print sits on the sheet, the Liene Photo app generates a contour path from the design, and a blade around 0.1 millimeters thick traces the outline through the sticker layer without slicing the backing.
