SwitchBot is gearing up to launch a new smart home hub, and it looks like the SwitchBot Hub 3 will bring some interesting changes. While the company hasn’t officially announced the device yet, details surfaced on the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) website, revealing what we can expect from this upcoming hub.
At its core, the Hub 3 continues SwitchBot’s approach of bridging its Bluetooth-based smart devices—like its retrofittable smart locks, curtain controllers, and switch pushers—to Matter-supported platforms like Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. But what makes this version different is a physical control dial and a set of buttons, adding a more hands-on way to control your smart home.
Unlike the previous models, which relied mostly on touch and app controls, the Hub 3 introduces a control knob that can be used to adjust temperature on a smart thermostat or control media volume on platforms like Apple TV and Spotify. The dial also doubles as a button, making it a versatile addition to the hub.

Alongside the dial, there are several buttons, including:
The display above the buttons isn’t just for show—it provides real-time updates on indoor temperature, humidity levels, and weather forecasts. It can also display the status of SwitchBot’s smart locks, keeping users informed about home security at a glance.
A nice touch (literally) is the motion-activated screen. Instead of staying lit all the time, the display wakes up when it detects movement, which can be useful at night—no bright lights disturbing your sleep.
As expected, the Hub 3 integrates with Alexa and Google Assistant, making it easy to control smart home devices with voice commands.
The SwitchBot Hub 2 already supports Matter and offers some smart home features like AC control, temperature monitoring, and a display. But the Hub 3 takes things further by adding physical controls, which could be a big deal for users who prefer tactile interaction over app-based controls.
It’s also worth noting that SwitchBot hubs help users convert non-Matter devices into Matter-compatible ones. If you already use SwitchBot’s Bluetooth-based devices, the Hub 3 could act as a bridge, making them accessible through major smart home platforms.
Since the SwitchBot Hub 3 hasn’t been officially announced, there’s no confirmed release date or pricing. However, looking at the Hub 2’s price of around $70-$80, the Hub 3 will likely be in the same range—though the added hardware features could push the cost up slightly.
For now, all we can do is wait for SwitchBot to make things official. But if the CSA listing is any indication, the Hub 3 could be arriving sooner rather than later.
