I’m not usually one to panic-buy a TV, but this one stopped me in my tracks. The LG 83-Inch Class OLED B5 (OLED83B5PUA, 2025) is currently on sale for $1,996.99 at Amazon — down from its original price of $4,299.99. That’s a massive discount for a screen this size, and at the time of writing, there are only six units left in stock. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to go big with OLED, this might just be it.

Let’s start with the obvious: 83 inches. That’s not just big, that’s full-on home cinema size. This is the kind of TV that turns movie night into a real event. Whether you're watching the latest blockbuster, gaming, or binging a series, the scale is immersive in a way smaller screens just can't match.

This isn’t just any large TV — it’s OLED. That means each pixel lights up independently, giving you perfect black levels, infinite contrast, and ultra-wide viewing angles. It’s the kind of picture quality that spoils you for anything else.

The B5 Series uses LG’s latest α8 AI Processor Gen2, which handles real-time picture and sound processing. It adapts to what you’re watching, enhancing both clarity and color accuracy. You’ll also get support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Filmmaker Mode.

If you're into gaming, this TV is more than ready. It features:

  • 120Hz native refresh rate
  • HDMI 2.1 on all four ports
  • VRR (Variable Refresh Rate)
  • ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode)

That means buttery-smooth gameplay with minimal input lag, whether you’re on a PS5, Xbox Series X, or gaming PC. And yes, it supports 4K at 120Hz on all ports.

LG’s webOS 25 brings AI-powered voice control, customizable user profiles, and app support for all major streaming platforms. You can use the built-in AI Search or AI Concierge to get recommendations, ask questions, or navigate your library without hunting through menus.

So, what's the catch? The B5 Series isn’t LG’s flagship, and you’ll notice that in the brightness department. If your room is flooded with sunlight or has lots of glare, the B5 might struggle a bit with reflections and peak HDR highlights. That said, in most home viewing environments, especially at night or in a dim room, it’s going to look absolutely stunning.

With a screen this large, you’ll probably want to upgrade the sound. The built-in speakers are fine for casual watching, but they won’t match the scale of the visuals. If you already have a soundbar or surround sound system, you’re golden. If not, you might want to budget for one. I personally recommend checking out Bluesound's new soundbars, the PULSE CINEMA and CINEMA MINI.

This isn’t a “fit it on the shelf” kind of TV. You’ll need a wall mount or media stand that supports 83 inches, and enough distance to sit back and take it all in (LG recommends at least 10-12 feet for comfortable viewing at this size).

If I had the wall space and the budget right now, this deal would already be in my cart. You’re getting:

  • A massive OLED panel
  • Excellent image quality
  • Current-gen gaming support
  • Smart features that don’t feel gimmicky

All for under $2,000.

It’s a crazy-good value. Honestly, I don’t think we’re going to see many deals like this on a name-brand 83-inch OLED anytime soon, not even during Black Friday.

Here’s the bottom line:

  • Buy it now if you want a premium OLED experience on a truly cinematic scale, and you don’t want to spend over $2K.
  • Pass only if your room is ultra-bright during the day, or you have nowhere to fit something this large.

With only six left in stock, this feels like one of those “act now or regret it later” situations. If you’re already picturing this thing in your living room, you probably know what to do.
