FiiO is back with another desktop audio release—this time introducing the K13 R2R, a compact digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier priced at $319 / £279 / €319. Slated to hit stores in September 2025, this new model brings some high-end features—like discrete R2R DAC architecture and broad connectivity—into a tidy, desk-friendly form factor.
The biggest talking point is right in the name: R2R. Instead of using the more common delta-sigma DAC chips, the K13 R2R relies on a resistor ladder setup, where carefully matched resistors decode your digital audio. This approach is known for producing a more “natural” sound, especially for listeners who care about tonal texture and musical flow.
Under the hood, FiiO pairs this ladder DAC with its own error correction algorithm to help maintain signal accuracy and reduce distortion. On paper, it’s impressive: THD+N as low as 0.00037%, 124 dB dynamic range, and a –124 dB noise floor. That translates to a clean, detailed sound—whether you’re critically listening or just relaxing with your favorite playlists.

The unit supports ultra-high-res audio too, handling PCM files up to 1536 kHz and DSD up to DSD1024. That’s more than enough for the vast majority of digital music libraries, including lossless and hi-res streaming formats.
With up to 2.4 watts of output, the K13 R2R is ready to power everything from sensitive IEMs to heavy-duty planar magnetic headphones. You can toggle gain levels depending on your gear, which helps avoid unwanted hiss on sensitive headphones while still giving you enough punch for 600-ohm models.

And when it comes to plugging in, FiiO’s covered most bases:
One thing it doesn’t have: analog line-in. So if you’re planning to connect a turntable or other analog gear, you’ll need a separate preamp or ADC to make that work.
FiiO’s aiming to make the K13 R2R more than just a decoder. It includes Bluetooth 5.4, so you can stream directly from a phone or tablet without cables. There’s also an OLED display on the front that shows your selected input, sample rate, and filter settings—plus a knurled volume knob that feels more like a piece of stereo gear than something meant to live on a desk.

For those who like to tweak their sound, FiiO offers multiple digital filters and a 10-band parametric EQ, both accessible through the FiiO Control app. You can even save sound profiles to match different headphones or music genres.
The K13 R2R has a compact aluminum chassis available in black or silver, designed for durability and passive heat dissipation. There’s also a small window on the top, so you can peek at the internal circuits—a nice touch for anyone who appreciates the tech as much as the sound.
It’s sized to fit nicely on a desktop, nightstand, or bookshelf, and if you want to expand it into a more complete system, FiiO recommends pairing it with their SP5 powered monitors and DM13 CD player.

The K13 R2R is built for listeners who want hi-res digital sound without building an overly complex setup. Whether you’re listening through high-end headphones, running a small nearfield speaker system, or adding it to a PC-based rig, the K13 R2R is flexible enough to act as the central hub.
Just keep in mind that it’s a digital-only unit, analog sources will need extra gear.
The FiiO K13 R2R is launching in this month through Amazon and other authorized dealers. Pricing is set at $319 in the U.S., £279 in the U.K., and €319 in Europe.
