You ever look at your headphones and think, “These sound great, but they could really use some diamonds”? No? Well, Loewe and Jacob & Co. did. And now we have what might be the most extravagant—and possibly the most “please-don’t-rob-me”—headphones ever made.
Luxury electronics brand Loewe Technology and ultra-glam jeweler Jacob & Co. have teamed up to release two limited-edition headphones that are equal parts audio gear and fine jewelry. They're called the Loewe x Jacob & Co. headphones, and they're available in two flavors: Noir Rainbow and Ice Diamond. Each pair is handcrafted, gem-studded, and costs more than a fully loaded BMW.
Let’s start with the obvious: the price. The Rainbow model will set you back a casual €99,000 (about $115,000), while the Ice Diamond version asks for €119,000 (roughly $138,000). In case your eyes just glazed over, yes, that’s six figures… for headphones.
But you’re not just buying headphones—you’re buying headphones with jewelry on them. The Noir Rainbow comes wrapped in a 14K rose gold ring encrusted with 15.97 carats of multicolored sapphires, while the Ice Diamond pairs things back (only slightly) with a 14K white gold ring featuring 12.47 carats of white diamonds, including 456 brilliant-cut stones. Basically, they’re wearable Fabergé eggs for your ears.
Only five pairs of each model are being made, so unless you’ve got yacht-party connections or your last name is Musk, this probably isn’t your next Amazon impulse buy.
Surprisingly, these aren’t just bejeweled fashion statements—they’re full-featured wireless headphones with some serious hardware.
Each pair includes a 50mm driver for high-res audio, paired with a Texas Instruments amplifier. They support Dolby Atmos, spatial audio, and you can tweak the EQ using a companion app. There’s also Mimi Sound compatibility for personalized listening based on your hearing profile.
On the smart feature side, both models include adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) with various transparency and intensity settings, along with built-in AI features like real-time translation and a voice assistant named Leo. Whether you’re switching playlists or trying to order coffee in a different language, these headphones are designed to help you do it hands-free.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.3, an analog audio input, and support for AAC, LC3, LC3+, and SBC audio codecs. There’s no support for aptX Lossless or LDAC, which might raise some eyebrows among audiophiles—but let’s be honest, these aren’t being bought for codec support.
Battery life? Up to 65 hours on a single charge, so they’ll outlast even your longest flight or yacht party.
Speaking of yachts… Yes, the launch event took place on an actual yacht. The Loewe Yacht, to be exact—a custom-built D55 Sportiva with an aluminum hull and sleek, contemporary design. It was docked off the coast of the French Riviera for the debut, which pretty much sums up the vibe of this whole launch: exclusive, extravagant, and unapologetically over the top.
Because if you’re going to announce a $138,000 headphone, you don’t do it in a conference room with a coffee cart. You do it at sea, surrounded by rosé, linen pants, and maybe an orca or two.
According to Loewe and Jacob & Co., the yacht reflects the same materials and design approach as the headphones themselves. This wasn’t just a flashy backdrop; it was part of the brand storytelling.
It’s easy to roll your eyes at a €100K+ pair of headphones. But take away the gemstones and gold, and what you’re left with is a solid set of over-ear headphones that could genuinely compete with top-tier models like the AirPods Max or Sony WH-1000XM6—especially with the addition of Dolby Atmos support, long battery life, and real-time translation. I think my AirPods just shed a tear reading that.
That said, these aren’t being sold as tech products. They’re collectibles. Statement pieces. The kind of thing someone might wear to a fashion show—or store in a safe deposit box.
If you’re not in the market for diamond-studded headphones (and who is, really?), don’t worry. The brands say this collaboration is just the beginning, with more Loewe audio products expected to arrive in September 2025. Hopefully, the next drop won’t require a trust fund.
