First teased at CES 2025, the Aqara G410 video doorbell is finally available—and it’s doing more than ringing alerts to your phone. Priced at $129.99 at Amazon, this device isn’t just a doorbell—it’s a camera, a smart home hub, and a controller for your connected devices, all rolled into one.

Aqara has a history of making feature-rich gear at reasonable prices, and the G410 continues that trend. It’s a follow-up to the earlier G4 model, but this time with more sensors, better video, and added compatibility with emerging smart home standards like Matter.

At the center of the G410 is a 2K camera with a wide 175-degree field of view and a 4:3 aspect ratio. That last part may sound technical, but it just means the image is taller—so you can actually see the person’s face and the package on your doorstep at the same time. The camera also includes night vision thanks to built-in infrared LEDs, and all your footage is encrypted end-to-end for privacy.

Right below the camera is a prominent doorbell button, making it obvious where visitors should press—a surprisingly welcome detail, given how some smart doorbells overdo the minimalist look.

You can power the G410 with either batteries or hardwire it to your existing doorbell wiring. If you go the wired route, you unlock the option for 24/7 continuous recording directly to a microSD card—up to 512GB—in the included indoor chime hub.

Motion alerts are helpful—until they aren’t. One of the more unique features in the G410 is a millimeter wave (mmWave) radar sensor that improves how the doorbell detects actual presence. It helps filter out false alarms caused by things like swaying trees or passing cars.

On top of that, the G410 includes on-device facial recognition. It can tell when it’s a family member at the door versus a stranger, and you can use that info to trigger specific alerts or smart home routines. Best of all, these facial profiles are stored locally, not in the cloud.

Through the Aqara Home app, you can also mask out sensitive areas in the camera’s view, use two-way audio to talk to whoever’s at the door, and even modify your voice for privacy.

Where this doorbell really starts to stretch beyond its category is with its built-in smart home features. It supports Zigbee, Thread, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, meaning it can act as a hub for a variety of smart devices. It’s also a Matter controller and Thread border router, which makes it easier to build out a smart home using gadgets from different brands that speak the Matter language.

It’s compatible with all the big platforms: Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant. You can stream its video feed via RTSP to apps that support it, or view it on smart displays across ecosystems.

Even though Matter doesn’t currently support cameras themselves, the G410 can share data like facial recognition events with Matter platforms—making it useful for more complex automation setups.

Unlike many other video doorbells, the G410 doesn’t require a monthly fee to access its main features. Yes, there’s a subscription option if you want cloud storage or extra perks, but the core functionality—video recording, local storage, smart home integration—is already included.

For storage, you’ve got options:

  • Record locally to a microSD card in the chime hub
  • Stream and store to a NAS on your home network
  • Use Aqara’s cloud (if you choose)

The included chime unit has a 95dB speaker and connects via USB-C. You can mount it on a wall or tuck it away as long as it’s plugged in. You can even customize the chime sound depending on who’s at the door.

For under $130, the Aqara G410 is more than just a doorbell. It’s a smart home entry point that works across ecosystems, handles video surveillance, and keeps your data local if that’s your preference. It won’t be for everyone—especially if you need tight integration with Matter cameras (which isn’t supported yet)—but it covers a lot of ground for anyone starting or expanding a smart home setup.

The G410 is available now at Amazon.
