Amazon just dropped a fresh batch of smart home devices, with new updates across its Echo, Ring, and Blink product lines. Whether you're into better sound quality, smarter security, or simply want to upgrade your home tech without breaking the bank, there’s probably something here worth a look.
The new lineup, available starting October 29, includes revamped smart speakers, wired and wireless cameras, and doorbells with clearer video and improved low-light features.
Let’s break it down.

If you're familiar with the Echo Dot, this one's a step up—literally. The Echo Dot Max is Amazon’s most powerful version of its compact speaker, promising nearly three times the bass compared to the 5th-gen Dot. That’s thanks to a brand-new two-way speaker system and a custom-designed woofer focused on delivering punchier low-end sound.
It’s also smart enough to adjust its sound based on where you place it in the room. So if you're moving it from a kitchen counter to a nightstand, it'll tweak its audio profile to sound its best.
The new Echo Studio shrinks things down without cutting back on performance. It's about 40% smaller than the original, but still packs in a high-excursion woofer and three full-range drivers. It supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos, aiming to offer a wide, immersive soundstage—even in a smaller package.
Interestingly, it’s supposed to deliver three times the bass of the already bass-heavy Echo Dot Max. So if you’re serious about room-filling audio in a tight space, this might be the one to consider.

Amazon’s security brand, Ring, is also rolling out several new devices—ranging from high-res doorbells to full-blown floodlight cams. Most of them now support 4K video, zoom up to 10x, and a new Low-Light Sight feature that helps with visibility in darker settings.

This is the flagship model of the new doorbells, bringing 4K clarity, a new design, and Low-Light Sight for clearer images at night. It also includes enhanced zoom so you can get a closer look when needed—useful for checking faces or reading packages on the porch.

Made for wide spaces like driveways or backyards, this updated floodlight cam offers 4K video, 3D Motion Detection (which helps reduce false alerts), and up to 10x zoom. It’s built to capture more detail across larger outdoor areas.

This one’s a bit more compact, designed for places like patios, side yards, or alleys. Despite the smaller size, you still get 4K video, 3D Motion Detection, Low-Light Sight, and zoom—just like the Floodlight Cam.

If you’re looking for a simple indoor camera, this new 2K model offers full-color low-light viewing, up to 4x zoom, and a removable lens cover so you can physically block the camera when you want privacy.
Sitting between the base and Pro models, this doorbell comes with 2K video, 3D Motion Detection, and Low-Light Sight. It skips 4K, but still brings the updated design and smart features that cover most use cases.

Blink’s latest outdoor camera sticks to the formula that made it popular: it’s wireless, battery-powered, and weather-resistant. What’s new is the 2K resolution, color night vision, and AI-powered notifications that aim to be more accurate about what they detect.
It still runs on just two AA batteries and is designed for long-lasting performance outdoors without constant recharging.
This wave of updates shows Amazon’s continued focus on growing its smart home lineup. Whether you're building a system from scratch or swapping out older gear, there’s now a broader range of options at different price points—from the $59.99 Indoor Cam Plus all the way up to the $279.99 Floodlight Cam Pro.
Everything is available now through Amazon and select retailers.
If you're planning to expand your smart home setup before the holidays—or just want better speakers and clearer security footage, there are plenty of new tools to choose from.
