Sony is expanding its INZONE gaming gear lineup with two new audio products: the wireless INZONE H9 II headset and the wired INZONE E9 in-ear monitors. Both were co-developed with pro esports team Fnatic, and they’re clearly aimed at players who take their gaming audio seriously—especially fans of competitive FPS titles.

With these additions, Sony’s INZONE family now includes everything from full-size headphones to earbuds, keyboards, mice, and mousepads—pushing deeper into the PC gaming scene while still supporting PlayStation gear.

Sony INZONE H9 II Gaming Headset

The INZONE H9 II is Sony’s latest flagship headset for gamers. At $349.99, it’s not cheap—but it does offer some thoughtful upgrades over the original H9, especially when it comes to comfort, sound quality, and voice communication.

Inside, you’ll find the same 30mm drivers used in Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones, which means you’re getting better bass and more detail across the board. That’s a big plus if you’re trying to pick out footsteps or distant gunfire in a crowded match.

The headset supports active noise canceling to help block out distractions, along with 360 Spatial Sound and a new FPS mode for better directional audio. Whether you're playing Valorant, Apex Legends, or any other fast-paced shooter, those sound enhancements could give you an edge.

Voice chat also gets a boost. The H9 II comes with a detachable super wideband boom mic that not only stays where you put it, but also uses AI-powered noise filtering to help your voice come through clearly—even in a noisy room.

Weighing about 260 grams without the mic (or 273g with it), the H9 II is noticeably lighter than its predecessor. It also has a redesigned spring-hinge headband that spreads the weight more evenly—so if you're playing late into the night, it shouldn’t feel like your headset is fighting you.

It connects in multiple ways: via USB-C 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth LE Audio, Bluetooth Classic, or a good old 3.5mm cable. Battery life is solid at up to 30 hours, and a quick 5-minute charge gives you around an hour of playtime. Sony even includes a soft carrying pouch to make transport easier.

Sony INZONE E9 IEMs

Not everyone wants or needs a big headset, especially in tournament settings. That’s where the INZONE E9 in-ear monitors come in. At $149.99, they’re a lighter, wired alternative for gamers who want less on their head without giving up on sound detail.

These earbuds are designed to be worn for long stretches—something that competitive players appreciate. They come with a mix of foam and silicone tips to help block out background noise, and the sealed earbud structure adds passive isolation so you can focus on the game, not the crowd.

Sony worked with Fnatic to fine-tune the E9’s sound profile, emphasizing things like reloads, footsteps, and gunshots. In a close match, those little cues can be the difference between a win and a respawn.

The E9s weigh less than 20 grams, making them barely noticeable once they’re in. They connect via 3.5mm jack or USB-C, and the included audio box adapter unlocks features like virtual 7.1 surround sound, 360 Spatial Sound, and EQ customization through Sony’s INZONE Hub software.

Bonus: They’ve been approved for pro use at the Apex Legends Global Series Year 5 Championship, so they’re already being trusted in high-stakes environments.

The H9 II and E9 are part of a wider refresh of the INZONE brand. Sony also revealed its first mechanical gaming keyboard (INZONE KBD-H75), the lightweight INZONE Mouse-A, and two mousepads (Mat-F and Mat-D). Everything was developed alongside Fnatic with a focus on competitive performance.

While these products technically work with PlayStation systems, there’s no question they’re designed with PC gamers in mind—especially those who are into esports or just want fine-tuned control over their gear.

The INZONE H9 II and E9 are both available for pre-order now from Sony, Amazon, and other retailers. Shipments are expected to begin between late August and early September 2025.
