After five years of behind-the-scenes development, Quad is officially releasing its new flagship integrated amplifier, the Platina Integrated. It’s the centerpiece of the brand’s new Platina Series, a fresh lineup that also includes a network streamer (coming out at the same time) and a CD transport (coming in 2026).
For those who’ve followed the British brand’s long history, this marks a pretty big moment. Quad has been making amps since the 1950s, and this one brings together their classic design sensibilities with all the modern tech you’d want in a two-channel setup today.
The Platina Integrated isn’t just a tweak of an older model — it’s a full redesign. Every circuit, every connection, every detail has been rethought. And the result? An amp that can handle everything from vinyl to hi-res digital audio, with power to spare.

It uses a dual-mono Class AB amplifier design, delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 300 watts into 4 ohms. That’s more than enough to drive difficult speaker loads, even the kind that make lesser amps sweat.
At the core is a custom 630VA toroidal transformer, plus 44,000μF of power filtering per channel, which helps it stay stable and dynamic under pressure. Quad also worked with Wurth Elektronik to create custom capacitors, which are exclusive to this model.
Internally, the Platina Integrated uses surface-mount components and a tightly packed layout to reduce interference and improve thermal stability, helping it stay cool and quiet even under load.

One of the Platina Integrated’s standout features is how much connectivity it offers. On the digital side, there’s:
For analog sources, it includes:
And on the output side, you’ve got gold-plated speaker binding posts, balanced and unbalanced pre-outs (to add a power amp or sub), and a 6.35mm headphone jack for private listening.

Inside the amp is ESS’s ES9038PRO DAC, a top-tier chip that handles PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512. It’s implemented in fully balanced mode to reduce noise and improve clarity.
Quad also added two ultra-precise master clocks to help eliminate jitter. One clock handles 44.1kHz-based signals (like standard CD audio), while the other tackles 48kHz-based formats (used in high-res PCM files).
If you’re into fine-tuning your sound, you’ll appreciate the selectable digital filters, upsampling options, and Roon Tested certification, which means it plays nicely in a Roon-based streaming setup.
Quad didn’t overlook the analog crowd. The built-in phono stage is based on a JFET design, supporting both MM and MC cartridges with three gain settings: 46dB, 52dB, and 60dB. It’s built to keep noise levels low while preserving the full dynamic range of your records.

As for headphone listening, the amp includes a dedicated headphone amplifier designed to deliver cleaner, faster response than what you’ll find in typical integrated amps. It uses a current-feedback layout, which helps it respond quickly to volume changes and musical detail.
Design-wise, the Platina Integrated nods to Quad’s history but brings in some modern touches. The steel chassis and anodized aluminum front panel feel solid and substantial, while vibration-damping feet help keep things quiet.
A 4.3-inch IPS display in the center of the front panel shows input, volume, VU meters, and more. It’s flanked by a large rotary dial, which doubles as the main navigation control. From here, you can dig into the amp’s settings — tweak filter modes, adjust gain, set max startup volume, or configure input sensitivity. The whole interface is clean and intuitive.
Technical Specifications:
So, if you’re building a new hi-fi system from scratch or looking to upgrade your amplifier, the Quad Platina Integrated is shaping up to be a serious all-rounder. With powerful amp performance, flexible connectivity, and support for both analog and digital formats — including vinyl, streaming, and even HDMI ARC — it’s built to be the centerpiece of a modern two-channel setup.
And while the tech under the hood is forward-thinking, the overall experience still feels very much in line with what Quad fans have come to expect: thoughtful engineering, solid build quality, and a focus on musical performance — without needing to go full separates.
The Quad Platina Integrated will ship in November 2025, with a price of £3,499 in the UK, and $5,495 in the US. It comes in either silver or black finishes. The Platina Stream network player launches alongside it, and the matching CD transport is expected in early 2026.
