PULA is back with a new release, and this time it’s taking a “less is more” approach. The company’s latest in-ear monitors, the Unicrom, follow on from the earlier ANVIL114 but go in a simpler direction: a single dynamic driver designed to deliver clear, natural, and balanced sound.

The name has a bit of personality, too. “Uni” is short for one, pointing to the single-driver setup. “Crom” comes from the silent god in Conan the Barbarian, symbolizing strength, calm, and inner power—a combination PULA seems to be channeling in this design.

At the heart of the Unicrom is a 10 mm dynamic driver with a beryllium-plated diaphragm. In audio gear, beryllium is valued for being both incredibly rigid and lightweight, which helps the driver respond quickly and accurately without introducing distortion. This gives the Unicrom the potential to reproduce sound across a wide frequency range while keeping things clean.

The ear shells are made from lightweight resin, shaped with ergonomics in mind so they sit comfortably during long listening sessions. The faceplates are crafted from stabilized maple wood, and because of the way the material is treated, every pair has its own unique pattern. At just 6.6 grams per side, they’re light enough to wear for hours without feeling like they’re weighing you down.

PULA says the Unicrom’s tuning aims for balance rather than heavy emphasis on one part of the spectrum. The bass is designed to be solid but controlled, giving tracks a bit of weight without muddying the mix. The midrange focuses on keeping vocals and instruments clear, while the treble is intended to sound airy and detailed, adding texture without becoming sharp or fatiguing.

That kind of profile means these IEMs should handle a wide range of genres—whether it’s jazz, acoustic folk, or something with a bit more low-end punch—without feeling out of place.

The Unicrom ships with a silver-plated copper cable that uses a swappable termination plug system. In the box, you get both a 3.5 mm single-ended plug and a 4.4 mm balanced plug, so you can easily connect to different sources without buying extra cables. The standard 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors also mean you can swap in an aftermarket cable if you prefer a different look or feel.

A leather carry case is included as well, giving you a safe spot to store the IEMs and accessories when you’re not using them.

The PULA Unicrom is available now for $79.99, with multiple color options so you can choose the look you prefer. And thanks to the maple wood faceplates, no two pairs look exactly alike.

For listeners who like the idea of a single-driver setup—valued for its coherence and simplicity—the Unicrom offers an approachable way to try it out without diving into the higher price ranges.
