If you're into high-end audio and bold design, KEF’s Blade Meta speakers probably aren’t new to you, and we even reviewed them back in 2019. But what is new? Their finish. KEF has given both the Blade One Meta and Blade Two Meta a fresh visual update for 2025 — and while nothing's changed under the hood, these new colors bring a modern twist to the already eye-catching speakers.
KEF isn’t messing with the sound — and that’s probably a good thing. The Blade Meta models were last updated in 2022 with KEF’s 12th-gen Uni-Q driver array and Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT). That tech is still front and center here, helping to reduce distortion and deliver a cleaner listening experience. So if you were hoping for internal upgrades or performance tweaks, that’s not what this update is about.
Instead, KEF is adding three new high-gloss metallic finishes:
Each of these finishes also comes with color-matched Uni-Q drivers, so the entire speaker looks more unified. It’s a small touch, but it gives the speakers a sharper, more polished look that aligns with current home design trends.

Both models still follow the same sculptural, futuristic design KEF fans know well. The Blade One Meta is the larger option, built for big listening spaces and serious full-range impact. It comes with four 225mm (9-inch) force-cancelling bass drivers.
The Blade Two Meta is slightly scaled down, with 165mm (6.5-inch) bass drivers, making it a better fit for medium to large rooms without compromising the overall experience. Both models use KEF’s signature layout, where those opposing side-firing bass drivers help cancel out vibration from the cabinet. Combined with the Uni-Q array on the front, it’s designed to keep the sound clear and focused.
In addition to the three new metallic finishes, KEF is keeping several of its more classic looks — like Piano Black/Copper, Piano Black/Grey, Racing Red/Grey, and Arctic White/Champagne. These have been fan favorites, and they’re not going anywhere for now.

However, some older finishes are being phased out. If you’ve had your eye on Frosted Blue/Bronze, Charcoal Grey/Red, or Charcoal Grey/Bronze, now might be the time to track them down. KEF has officially retired these from the current Blade lineup, although limited availability might still exist in certain markets like the UK.
This kind of finish refresh isn’t new for KEF — they’ve done it before with products like the LSX II and LS60 Wireless — and it’s a trend we’re seeing more across the audio world. Even a brand like McIntosh has also rolled out a new color option recently, showing that even in high-end audio, style matters just as much as sound.
The new color options are available now in North and South America. Pricing hasn’t changed:
There’s no official word yet on when these finishes will hit other regions, but KEF says more updates are coming soon.
This update isn’t about changing how the Blade Meta sounds — it’s about giving people more ways to make it fit into their space. Whether you’re going for a bold statement with Garnet or something more understated like Grigio, these new finishes give KEF’s flagship speakers a fresh layer of appeal. The sound? Still the same. But now, you’ve got more choices for how it looks while it fills your room with music.
