Ikarao, the UK-based brand known for its rugged party speakers, is back with a new lineup that blends karaoke fun with smart tech. Their latest trio of portable speakers—the Break X1, Break X2, and Shell S1—are packed with touchscreen displays, wireless mics, and Android smarts, all designed to make singing along easier (and louder) than ever.

These aren’t your typical Bluetooth speakers. Instead of relying on a phone or tablet to control playback or find songs, each of these speakers comes with its own built-in Android interface—complete with a rotating display and full app access. So whether you're queuing up a YouTube karaoke video or digging into a playlist on Spotify, it all happens right from the speaker.

Let’s break down what’s new—and what makes each model a little different.

Break X1: The Biggest and Loudest of the Bunch

If you're the kind of person who goes all-in on karaoke, the Break X1 is clearly the showpiece here. It’s the largest of the three, with a 13.3-inch touchscreen that rotates 180 degrees, a 460W amplifier, and dual wireless microphones that store and recharge inside the speaker when not in use.

You’ll also find a few extra features that performers might appreciate, like a tripod mount, a guitar input, and both USB and microSD ports for playing your own music files. There’s even HDMI output, so you can hook the speaker up to your TV to display lyrics or apps on a big screen.

It’s not exactly light—just over 13 pounds—but it does come with a carry strap if you want to bring it to a party or outdoor event.

Break X2: Slightly Smaller, Still Ready for a Crowd

The Break X2 lands in the middle, both in size and price. At $469, it swaps the larger screen for a 10.1-inch rotating display and drops the power down slightly to 300W. Even so, it still includes the same dual wireless mics, HDMI out, and Android 13 interface, making it a solid pick for house parties or casual performances.

The X2 has a pair of 1.2-inch tweeters and 4-inch woofers, offering enough punch for most living rooms or backyard setups. It also shares many of the same ports as the X1, including AUX in/out, USB, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi, plus a microSD card slot for offline music.

Like the flagship model, the Break X2 also comes in at about 13 pounds, but its smaller footprint makes it a bit easier to move and store.

Shell S1: More Compact, Still Plenty of Features

If you're looking for something a little more compact (or a little less expensive), the Shell S1 might hit the sweet spot. It also has a 10.1-inch touchscreen and wireless mics, but it’s geared more toward personal use or smaller gatherings.

The speaker puts out 280W of power, which still packs enough volume for a fun karaoke session, and includes 1-inch tweeters and 3.5-inch woofers. You’ll get a USB port for offline files (though no microSD slot like the other two), plus the same Android 13 setup, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi support.

Ikarao Shell S1.

At $349, it’s the most affordable of the group but still checks many of the same boxes—making it a good option for casual karaoke or everyday music streaming.

No matter which model you choose, you’ll get a six-month subscription to Karafun, a karaoke app with over 59,000 songs and customizable settings for tempo and pitch. The app runs right on the speaker, and you can even download songs for offline use if you’re headed off the grid.

Prefer something free? YouTube works just fine too—and with the built-in screen and speakers, you won’t need a second device to get started.

Each speaker promises up to 10 hours of battery life, which should be enough for most parties (or at least until your voice gives out). They all support Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless pairing and Wi-Fi for streaming directly from apps. And since the system runs Android 13, you’re not limited to karaoke—you can stream movies, play games, or even launch a trivia app if you want to mix things up.

All three speakers are available now on Amazon:

With their touchscreens, mics, and streaming features built right in, Ikarao’s new speakers are trying to make karaoke more accessible—and a little more high-tech. Whether you’re singing in your living room or setting up in the backyard, these speakers aim to make the process as simple as tapping the screen and grabbing a mic.
