Focal’s Best Wireless Headphones Are $150 Off — But Not for Long

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to grab a pair of Focal Bathys Black Silver, this is the deal you’ve been hoping for.

If you’ve been holding out for a serious deal on high-end headphones, this is the one to watch. The Focal Bathys Black Silver are currently down to $699 (from $849) at Crutchfield — but only until December 2, 2025. For anyone who’s been eyeing these wireless ANC headphones, this is the lowest price we’ve seen and, frankly, one of the best values in the high-end headphone market right now.

Let me be upfront — the Focal Bathys are not your average noise-cancelling headphones. They’re Focal’s first wireless model with active noise cancellation, but they carry over a lot of what makes the brand’s audiophile gear so desirable: made-in-France 40mm aluminum/magnesium drivers, premium materials (real leather, magnesium yoke), and a beautifully balanced sound signature.

They also feature a USB-DAC mode that supports up to 24-bit/192kHz playback, so if you’re the type who likes to plug into your laptop or a portable music player for lossless playback, these are built for that too. And you still get all the wireless conveniences — Bluetooth 5.1, multipoint pairing, and about 30 hours of battery life with ANC on.

In terms of sound, the Bathys deliver a wide, spacious soundstage with a warm midrange and clean, detailed highs. They’re clearly tuned with hi-fi listeners in mind — offering a presentation that’s immersive and refined without veering into overly analytical territory.

Think of them as striking a sweet spot between precision and enjoyment: they’re revealing enough for critical listening, but still smooth and engaging for everyday use. Whether you’re streaming wirelessly or plugged in via USB-DAC mode, the overall sound signature leans more toward “refined fun” than “studio monitor flat.”

Right now, the Black/Silver version of the Bathys is available at Crutchfield for $699, and that price is good until December 2, 2025. That’s a significant savings on a pair of headphones that almost never drop this low. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade, this is it.

And just for comparison: when the Bathys first launched, they were priced between $799 and $849, depending on the finish. So this isn’t just a small seasonal discount — it’s a real deal.

Here’s where things get even more interesting. At this price point, the Bathys go head-to-head with some serious players in the premium wireless space.

  • First, there’s the Focal Bathys MG, which we recently reviewed and awarded our Editor’s Choice. It’s a step-up model with a magnesium driver and retails for $1,499 (at Crutchfield and Amazon) — more than twice the price of the Bathys Black Silver. If you want the Focal sound but don’t want to shell out over a grand, the current Bathys promo is a no-brainer.
  • Then there’s the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 — priced at $799 (at Crutchfield and Amazon). We also reviewed it and gave it our Editor’s Choice for its luxurious design and excellent audio performance. But here’s the thing: at $699, the Bathys undercuts the Px8 S2 while offering competitive sound, build, and wired/wireless flexibility. It’s a strong alternative, especially if you’re after a more neutral, hi-fi-forward tuning.

In short, the Bathys punch above their price tag — especially now.

Also worth knowing:

  • Prefer a different look? The Focal Bathys Dune model (same specs, lighter finish) is also available at both Crutchfield and Amazon.
  • Noise-cancelling is good, though not class-leading. If your top priority is blocking out the subway or plane engine, you might find better ANC from Sony WH-1000XM6 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen (read our review). But if your top priority is sound, the Bathys are arguably in a different league.
  • The build quality is superb. These are headphones you’ll be proud to wear — especially if you care about materials and industrial design.
  • If you’re someone who appreciates wired playback — especially through a laptop or USB-C dongle — the built-in DAC is a real differentiator at this price.

From where I’m sitting, the Focal Bathys at $699 is one of the best headphone deals of the year. You’re getting Focal’s signature driver tech, luxury design, and audiophile-grade USB DAC mode in a wireless, travel-friendly format — all for less than a pair of Bowers & Wilkins PX8 S2s and way less than the Bathys MG.

If you’ve been saving up for your first serious pair of wireless headphones, or just want a premium upgrade without going full flagship, this promo is a rare chance to do it right. Just don’t wait too long — the deal ends December 2, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it sells out before then.
